Zad Mediterranean Cuisine, a Yemeni influenced restaurant that offers dishes ranging from kabobs to shawarma, opened recently in Hoover.

Located at 2760 John Hawkins Parkway, Suite 112, Zad’s website declares it offers “house-made Yemeni dishes few restaurants in the region even attempt.”

Here’s a taste of what makes Zad stand out:

  • Maqaniq: A lamb sausage link dish
  • Chicken shawarma salad
  • Quail 
  • Lamb Pies
  • Ghallaba: A Middle Eastern dish of sautéed vegetables in a spice + tomato base

The restaurant is open Sunday to Thursday from 10AM to 9PM and Friday and Saturday from 10AM to 11PM.
