It has only been one week, but it is hard to believe the Birmingham Stallions are gone.
It was—pardon the pun—a wild ride. We pulled together some of our favorite moments from the past five years.
Inaugural 2022 season: Hosting 43 games at Protective in USFL first season
Someday this will be a trivia question.
How many USFL games did the new Protective Stadium and Legion Field host in its inaugural season? Five? Ten?
The answer is 43 games (includes 3 playoff games).
How good were the Stallions?
The Stallions were pretty darn good. Over five seasons in the USFL and UFL, the Stallions finished with 43 wins and 14 losses.
They won when it counted too.
- 2 USFL titles in 2022 and 2023.
- First team to win the UFL championship in 2024

More than football—a community
In addition to the victories and titles, the Stallions were a part of our community. Our favorite two events? The Greater Birmingham Humane Society’s “puppy bomb” at Legion Field and the Championship parade, when it poured down rain.
