From Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9, 2026, City Walk BHAM will host the biggest action sports festival in the world—and you’re invited.

The FISE (Festival International des Sports Extrêmes) World Series will be in downtown Birmingham at City Walk for a three-day weekend of BMX freestyle, extreme skateboarding, 3×3 basketball, live music, local food trucks and more.

What is FISE + why is it coming to Birmingham?

Founded in France nearly three decades ago, the FISE World Series is one of the world’s biggest celebrations of action sports and urban culture. An international event, FISE takes hundreds of the world’s top athletes on a multi-stop global tour through several international cities, including:

Macau, China
Montpellier, France
Shanghai, China
Birmingham, Alabama—the sole U.S. stop on the tour!

When FISE organizers began looking for a North American destination for the 2026 iteration of the festival, they were looking for a community that matched the spirit of the festival—and found it in Birmingham.

Birmingham stuck out for several reasons. In addition to the Magic City’s record for hosting international events (such as The World Games 2022 and The World Police & Fire Games in 2024), FISE organizers were dazzled by the world-class skate park at City Walk BHAM.

With high-flying BMX tricks, exhilarating 3×3 basketball and stunning skateboarding showcases, FISE will be unlike anything else happening in Birmingham this summer. During the three-day festival, City Walk BHAM will transform into an international action sports festival, with more than 400 elite athletes from around the globe competing in:
