Alabama’s first Urban Planet store has opened at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover.

What is Urban Planet at Riverchase Galleria?

Urban Planet by Charlotte Russe is a trendy affordable clothing store, located in the former Forever 21 spot near Inspiration Co. and Victoria’s Secret on the first level of the state’s largest shopping mall.

According to Janay Headen, the store manager, the boutique offers a wide range of fashion choices, including:

  • Dresses
  • Graphic tee shirts
  • Denim
  • Fleece
  • Athletic wear
  • Jewelry
  • Purses
  • Shoes
  • Bags
  • Men’s clothing

“Customers should expect  A-1 customer service. They should feel like they’re the only customer in the store because we’re gonna treat them like our family.”

Janay Headen

The store’s hours of operation are:

  • Monday to Saturday — 11AM to 8PM
  • Sunday — Noon to 6PM
  • Urban Planet – Urban Planet, 2000 Riverchase Galleria, Hoover, AL 35244 – Website I Facebook I Instagram

Fun fact about Urban Planet. It is very popular in Canada with 214 stores and only 16 in the United States.

Despite being listed for sale in June 2026, Riverchase Galleria continues to attract new tenants, adding two major retailers within the past year — JD Sports, the UK-based retailer in August 2025 and Urban Planet this month.

The Galleria is one of the biggest malls in the Southeast, with nearly 150 stores, a hotel, office space, and even a classic carousel.

Hoover Mayor Nick Derzis says he’s all in on bringing the Galleria back.

“I want everyone to know that my administration and the Hoover City Council is doing everything we can to bring back the Galleria to the days that we remember. We are pursuing every opportunity to make sure we can get this economic engine back and—if possible—better than ever before.”
