Andy’s Farm Market and Garden Center has permanently closed its Hoover location after 15 years in business.

The local nursery shared the news with the community on Facebook, expressing deep gratitude to the customers who became part of their story over the last decade and a half.

“Thank you for allowing us to be part of the Hoover community. We hope you’ll continue making Andy’s Garden Center your destination for gardening, fresh produce, and family fun. We can’t wait to welcome you to Vestavia Hills!”

While the Hoover doors have closed, the business is consolidating its team and expanding its offerings at the original flagship location in Vestavia Hills, located just nine miles away.

Many familiar faces from the Hoover store will transition to the Vestavia Hills nursery, which operates as a full-scale family destination.

The 3351 Morgan Drive location offers a significantly larger layout, featuring:

  • Two large greenhouses packed with shrubs, trees, annuals + perennials
  • A seasonal farm market stocked with fresh, local Alabama produce
  • The Butterfly House, an immersive walk-through pollinator garden (open April–September)
  • The Deep Earth Gem Mine & Rock Shop, a hands-on gemstone mining sluice + rock-sifting experience for kids + families
