This week, the YMCA and the city of Hoover opened a new children’s playground.

Located at the Hoover Family YMCA, the playground is open to children who participate in the Y’s Child Watch and Summer Day Camp.

Named the McGregor-Sandlin Playground, the recreational area honors the Sandlin Foundation for Kids and Kindness and longtime YMCA employee and Hoover YMCA board member, Molly McGregor.

“The Sandlin Foundation is proud to help turn the vision of a new playground into a reality because we believe wholeheartedly in the extraordinary impact the Hoover YMCA has on children, families, and the broader community.”

“This playground represents more than just a new space for play. It is an investment in the future of our community and the countless memories, friendships, and opportunities that will be created there for years to come. What the YMCA does for our community is inspiring and we are honored to be playing a role in helping Hoover YMCA continue its life changing mission.”
