3 new inductees into Birmingham Business Hall of Fame: Barber, Mouron, Thornton

The Kiwanis Club of Birmingham announced its incoming class of 2026 inductees into the Birmingham Business Hall of Fame.

For nearly 30 years, the Club has selected local business leaders who have exemplified strong leadership in the Birmingham business community and made extraordinary contributions to Greater Birmingham. 

Presently, 161 prominent Birmingham business leaders have been inducted.

This year’s honorees are:

  • George W. Barber Jr, Barber Companies, The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, Barber Marina
  • Michael A. Mouron, Capstone Development Corporation
  • Larry Thornton, Thornton Enterprises, past Kiwanis President 

It is an honor and a privilege that our club does not take lightly in presenting the new Birmingham Business Hall of Fame inductees. This year’s extraordinary class of Birmingham business leaders made many notable and long-lasting contributions to our city and to our economy.”

Kiwanis Club of Birmingham largest in the world

The 28th Birmingham Business Hall of Fame event will be held at the Harbert Center on Tuesday, August 25 from 11:00AM – 1:00PM. Tickets and sponsorships are now available

The Kiwanis Club of Birmingham is the largest Kiwanis Club in the world.

In addition to the Hall of Fame, the Kiwanis Club runs several local scholarship programs, supports projects at the Birmingham Zoo and McWane Science Center. The group is also responsible for Kiwanis Centennial Plaza, Kiwanis Vulcan Trail and the upgraded LED lighting for shows at Vulcan Park & Museum.
