Savage’s, Gianmarco’s and more earn 95+ food service scores in May 2026

Several Jefferson County restaurants including Gianmarco’s Restaurant in Homewood, 4th Ave. Historic District’s Dawson’s Burger, Wings & Fries, Mountain Brook’s Bongiorno Restaurant — and 21 additional local restaurants—received 95 and above on their food service scores this past May 2026.

Since 2018, Bham Now has reported the monthly Jefferson County Department of Health restaurant food service scores. Each month, the Health Department inspects an average of 100-125 local establishments that handle and serve food. 

They include:

  • Restaurants
  • Schools
  • Nursing homes
  • Daycare centers
  • Hospitals
  • Grocery stores
  • Concession stands
