Did you see ASFA’s Wes Chapman in Dreams (2025)?
If you saw the 2025 drama Dreams, you likely spotted a familiar face: that of Wes Chapman, the Dance Chair at the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA). In the film, he played the ballet director—a role that makes sense for Chapman, who previously performed as a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre and the Bavarian National Ballet.

Written and directed by Mexican filmmaker Michel Franco, Dreams stars Jessica Chastain as Jennifer McCarthy, a wealthy American socialite who starts a fling with talented Mexican dancer Fernando Rodriguez, portrayed by Isaac Hernández.
A powerful American socialite and an undocumented Mexican ballet dancer begin a dangerous affair. When he secretly crosses the U.S.-Mexico border, she takes desperate measures to protect their future together.
