Birmingham actress in Stranger Things season 5 + lead in local play
Reading time: 2 minutes

The highly anticipated fifth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things has left a lot of us (myself included) glued to our TV screens.
To pull off the 1980s-based fantasy thriller, a lot of extra help is needed, and a few Birmingham actors have gotten the lucky call!
Keep reading to see who is gracing the screen in Stranger Things this go-around—plus other Alabama actors who have starred in past seasons!
From Stranger Things to Virginia Samford Theatre
In season five, you’ll see Birmingham’s own Eden Stephens a few times. (Don’t worry, no spoilers! I wouldn’t do that to you.)
Playing the role of Debbie Miller, Eden is expected to be on the screen a couple more times. But we’ll have to watch it to find out.
“As an actor, it was my first experience on camera, rather than on stage. I was learning so much every day. And then, as a fan, it was very special to be in a show that our family has watched for years. The whole experience was a lot of fun.”
Eden Stephens
Following her Netflix debut, Eden will hit the stage as Scout in Virginia Samford Theatre’s “To Kill A Mockingbird.” Good news: It’s coming up next week! See Eden and other locals on stage December 11-21.
More Alabama actors in Stranger Things
But! Eden’s not the only Alabamian featured in the series. If you’re up for a rewatch, you can spot actors from across Alabama throughout other seasons.

- Lee Ella Weadon, Dothan: Season 3
- Jackson Watts, Alabaster: Season 4
- Alyse Elna Lewis: Season 5
- Braxton Quinney: Stranger Things: Tales from 85 (coming in 2026)
