Little Donkey Mexican Restaurant and Luca & Lucy are holding grand openings on December 2nd at Valley Post in Chelsea.

The two popular Birmingham-based restaurants are the 3rd and 4th establishments to locate within the much-anticipated Shelby County development by Mike Mouron and Capstone Development and the Pihakis Restaurant Group (PRG).

Last week, Valley Post welcomed PRG brands Rodney Scott BBQ and Hero Diner to this exciting new spot on Highway 280 at 1012 Dunnavant Valley Rd.

A little bit more info about the two new additions.

  • Little Donkey, a 13-year-old Homewood staple known for “Mexican Food with a Southern Soul,” cocktails, shareable plates, Mexican favorites and signature specialties. In addition to the Homewood location, Little Donkey recently opened a restaurant in downtown Montgomery. The new Valley Post location is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
  • Luca & Lucy, a “little sister” to Homewood’s popular Luca Lagotto. Under the direction of Chefs Rita Bernhardt and Paul Yeck, Luca & Lucy will serve big pizzas and red sauce-infused plates with an Italian-American flair. The restaurant serves dinner seven days a week beginning at 4:00PM, closing at 9:00 Sunday-Thursday and 10:00PM on Friday and Saturday.
