Family-owned Over the Mountain Sporting Goods has opened a new 2nd storefront in Irondale.

Read on to learn about this exciting new development.

52 years in the sporting goods business

The Clanton family has been in the sporting goods business for 52 years.

It all started in the early 1970s with the former Homewood Sporting Goods store which then transformed into Over the Mountain Sporting Goods in Mountain Brook’s Crestline Village.

Now, the family has expanded their footprint with a second shop at 5415 Beacon Drive, Suite 151, in Irondale.

All the sporting goods you need

The new store has everything you want in a local sporting goods store, from equipment to uniforms.

Their products include:

  • Uniforms for every sport β€” football, lacrosse, basketball, baseball and more
  • Safety equipment such as shoulder pads, helmets and more
  • Balls, bats and lacrosse sticks

In addition to the gear and uniforms, Over the Mountain specializes in customizing uniforms and even everyday clothing. They have on-site in Irondale screen printing, embroidery and heat-set vinyl printing capabilities. No job is too big or small.

Yates Clanton, a member of the family’s fourth generation to work for the company, told Bham Now that what makes Over the Mountain Sporting Goods different is their customer service.

β€œOur bread and butter is customer service. We live in the neighborhood. Our customers are friends.”
