Popular sporting goods superstore coming to Gardendale

Academy Sports + Outdoors is coming to Gardendale

According to a Monday evening post on Facebook by Mayor Stan Hogeland, the sporting goods superstore will be located on Odum Road near Exit 271 on I-65.Β The 55,000 square foot building will be located next to Longhorn Steakhouse.Β 

β€œEconomic development and attracting this type business is highly competitive and I couldn’t be prouder that Gardendale was chosen for their newest store.”

Gardendale Mayor Stan Hogeland stated in Facebook post 

This will be the fourth Academy Sports + Outdoors in the Birmingham metro area and the first along the I-65 corridor in Jefferson County.

Gardendale is on a roll

The city of Gardendale has added several new restaurants, shops and amenities over the past few years. In 2023, the town completed a $32 million makeover of Bill Noble Park. Last December, locally-owned Wood’s Trading Company opened.
