Alabama’s arts scene is about to get a major boost—and Birmingham is benefiting too! The Alabama State Council on the Arts is investing nearly $3.8 million in 176 organizations across the state, supporting everything from local theater productions and public art murals to cultural festivals and arts education programs.
Here’s a look at which art organizations around Birmingham made the list.
About Alabama State Council on the Arts grants
The latest round of funding includes 221 grants in total, including:
- General operating support for 29 arts organizations—includes additional operating support for statewide partner organizations and arts education initiatives
- Project grant support for 145 organizations and educational institutions—all provide arts programming for communities across Alabama + beyond
