Birmingham is full of vibrant apartment communities—but beyond the pools and skyline views, many renters are craving something more: real connection.
While other complexes focus on flashy amenities, H2 Real Estate saw an exciting opportunity to create something deeper—a true sense of belonging.
Here’s how H2 is helping renters feel seen, welcomed and connected, through unique events and thoughtful perks.
How H2 Real Estate is building community among Birmingham residents

We spoke with Jon Jackson, Brand and Marketing Manager at H2 Real Estate, to learn more about why they’re striving to create real communities for their renters.
“We’re always looking for ways to add value to our residents. While many of our communities don’t have traditional amenities like a pool, we saw this as a chance to offer residential events to help bring our renters together to build friendships and experience some of Birmingham’s coolest spots.”

H2 also loves to support Birmingham’s amazing local businesses, and one way they are able to do this is by hosting residential events at area spots like bars and restaurants.
Birmingham apartment dwellers want real connections

While you might expect the turnouts of residential events to include a few random people exchanging awkward hellos before hitting the exit in under 10 minutes, H2’s gatherings are proving locals are seeking connection.
This year, H2 has hosted three residential events—two at Magnolia Point and one at Dave’s Pub in Birmingham’s Five Points South. Each event drew in over 120 residents who showed up to eat, mingle and soak up the vibe.
“My favorite event so far was our Magnolia Point event in May. We had a turnout of 140 residents and everyone was having such a good time, enjoying Magnolia Point’s fantastic drinks and food, and their beautiful patio.”

These aren’t just one-off parties, either. They’re a start to something bigger.
“We have had several events where the entire community will show up, share some drinks and food together. Many of our communities have just three or four apartments per building, and this is the perfect opportunity for them to get to know their neighbors better.”

Residents are noticing, too. As each event passes, RSVPs fill up faster. H2’s most recent event had a full guest list in under 24 hours.
More ways H2 Real Estate is building community

While resident events are the flashiest part of H2’s community-building efforts, they’re not the only way the company is giving back to The Magic City.
Here are a few more ways H2 is showing up for Birmingham:
- Support local: They go beyond housing by teaming up with local restaurants and businesses to uplift the community.
- Urban revitalization: They are deeply involved in restoring and preserving historic properties to breathe new life into Birmingham’s older neighborhoods.
- Built-in community: They work to enhance Birmingham by creating more connected, walkable and lively communities.
