If you’ve lived in Birmingham long enough, you may know Dave Gray as the former CEO of Biso Collective, Stoneybrook Ventures, or before all of it: Daxko.
Now, the Birmingham entrepreneur has stepped in as CEO of Arcoro, an HR software company for mid-size commercial construction companies. While Arcoro boasts employees across 25 states in the U.S., Gray has begun to build a hub here in Birmingham, complete with six former employees of Daxko.

Arcoro offers HR solutions and services that help construction companies hire, manage and grow their workforce while maximizing performance and maintaining compliance.
Gray stepped into the CEO role of Arcoro six months ago.
“One of my previous private equity partners, PSG, reached out to me about this opportunity. I liked the market because we serve construction businesses, which, the way we describe it, are the people who build our world.
I like the mission of our customers. I like the focus. The team is a pretty good size; there are enough people here that you feel like you have a real impact.”

“Getting the band back together”

Gray has recruited former Daxko employees who he knew would make a valuable contribution to the Arcoro team.
The newest additions to the Birmingham team are:
- Will Yarbrough, Chief Sales Officer
- Senthil Subramanian, Chief Technology Officer
- Ben Goolsby, VP of Sales
- Christy Williams, Director of Account Management
Plus, Birmingham’s Justin Kelly was already the engineering manager of Arcoro when Gray joined the team.
“I have a big bias towards Birmingham and want to see it live up to its potential. I was given the opportunity to make some changes in the leadership, and I wanted really good people.
“I have a desire to help Birmingham live up to its potential. I hired people here because they are extremely talented, high-integrity individuals, but I also wanted to emphasize Birmingham.”

Building strong teams + careers in Birmingham

Gray is no stranger to the Birmingham entrepreneurial scene. He’s best known for his roles with:
“I want to build healthy, high-performing teams—that’s my personal mission statement.
That was a big part of Daxko, but the focus here (at Arcoro) is not any different. We want to build healthy and high-performing teams. We want to provide rewarding careers for our team members.”
