Looking for an easy way to get involved in Birmingham’s thriving tech and innovation scene? We’ve got you covered.

This spring, there are all kinds of events to check out from networking luncheons to skill-building workshops and more. Read on for six events happening in The Magic City, and how to sign up.

1. Community Connect | May 10

Hosted by American Marketing Association (AMA), SHE WELL READ and the Birmingham Tech Council, this free event is all about bringing the community together to network, build connections and support local talent.

There will be a curated lineup of local vendors, plus exciting giveaways provided by AMA.

2. BWIT Networking Event | May 14

Get ready to network and have great conversations with fellow tech professionals on Wednesday, May 14. Hosted at Little Professor, this is the perfect post-work catch up featuring drinks and light bites.

3. Free Online SEO Class | May 14

If SEO is a skill that you still haven’t mastered, you’re definitely not the only one. Tune into this free SEO class for a guide to everything from the basics to the clever tricks that help you outrank competitors and attract a wider audience.

4. The Realities of AI in Cybersecurity | May 20

This special Lunch & Learn event brings together top cybersecurity executives from industries like defense, healthcare and gaming as they share real-world examples of how AI is transforming the current workforce.

Panelists include Steve Sebastian of VIVA HEALTH, Aaron Madden of Wind Creek, Jason Kearns of Davidson Technologies and moderator Vic Mahajan of Darktrace.

5. AMP Presents: “Mastering Artificial Intelligence & ChatGPT” | June 19

On June 19, Alabama Media Professionals is hosting an interactive workshop tackling the world of AI and ChatGPT. Head to Homewood Public Library to learn more about this innovative technology.

6. AMA Tech Stack Talk | June 25
