On Saturday, April 26, actor and comedian Shane Gillis made history at Legacy Arena at the BJCC by drawing a record-shattering crowd to his performance. At 16,344 tickets sold, the event marked the highest attendance for a comedy show at Legacy Arena in the venue’s 50-year history.

Last week, thousands of fans came to Legacy Arena at the BJCC to laugh with popular comedian Shane Gillis. Known for his unfiltered humor and rising stardom in the comedy world, Gillis has seen recent success with his Netflix special Beautiful Dogs, Netflix comedy show Tires and his podcast Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast.
Gillis’ success continued in Birmingham, with his April 26th show setting multiple records:
- At 16,344 tickets sold, Shane Gillis has set the 50-year record for tickets sold to a single show by a comedian at Legacy Arena.
- Gillis’ performance was the highest-selling show of any genre since Legacy Arena’s renovation in 2021.
