Whether it’s the main attraction or the accessory to a chill evening, we’re always down to enjoy tacos. And it doesn’t have to be Taco Tuesday to make it a Taco Day. We rounded up some of our favorite spots (in no particular order) to grab authentic tacos that will hit the spot.
Corazon Mexican Food Truck
You won’t want to miss this food truck and its delicious tacos as it makes its way around the Magic City. To stay up to date, check out their social media, where they post where they’ll be throughout the week. You can even submit a request for an appearance at your next event.
Our taco tip: Don’t forget dessert: Try their churros dipped in goat’s milk caramel for the perfect finish.
Dos Hermanos Food Truck

Dos Hermanos has been serving up some of the best authentic tacos in Birmingham for more than a decade. They only accept cash, so be prepared, and don’t miss out on their awesome tacos, especially the carnitas tacos. Check out their social media for the most up-to-date locations.
Our taco tip: Try their spicy jalapeño carrots with your tacos for a fun kick.
El Girasol

Here’s one taco stop that doubles as a store, so you can grab a taco and take a look around at their wares. El Girasol offers Nopales tacos, also known as cactus tacos, which you don’t see all that often in Birmingham.

El Taco Loco
El Taco Loco is open every day of the week, which means any day can be taco day. Their loaded Americanos tacos make it the place to be.

El ZunZún
El ZunZún offers a variety of Latin American dishes + many different taco plates, which include four street tacos and a side of rice and black beans, to satisfy every taco craving you have.

Garcia’s Grill
It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but once inside, you know you’re in the right place. People say Garcia’s Grill is a cozy and comfortable place to eat, so be sure to stop by and get the Taco Loco meal.

Grand Cantina
Have you had the chance to try the Grand Cantina? You don’t want to miss out on their Pirates’ Special menu, where you can get delicious, filled-to-the-brim fish tacos. Plus they have some fun drink options to go with your tacos!

Iguana Grill

The portions at Iguana Grill do not disappoint. They have tacos al carbon, tacos de damaron, or yummy fish tacos. They also have tacos available in their combo meals if you’re looking for more to enjoy on the menu.
Our taco tip: This place has one of the most unique atmospheres. The colorful lights make this an exciting date night spot.
La Tia Paisa Taco Shop

You’ll never be wanting for options, taco-wise, at La Tia Paisa Taco Shop. They have a wide variety of menu items you can try, from their tacos barbacoa to the tacos pescado.

Los Valedores Food Truck

Mi Pueblo Supermarket

Another stop that doubles as a store is the Mi Pueblo Supermarket, and the tacos never fail to impress. They always have fresh tortillas made at their in-house restaurant.

Mr. Taco Taco Truck
Located at a Shell station on N Chalkville Road, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu to chow down on. They have a variety of tacos for $3, including a campechano taco, which is a mixed meat taco, if you’re wanting a little bit of everything.

Taco Morro Loco

Word around the block is that you need to try the carne asada tacos at Taco Morro Loco. But why stop there? They have so many options for tacos, including a vegetarian taco.

Taqueria Juarez – Taco Truck
Taqueria Juarez has a variety of delicious, authentic Mexican food options. But to me, the tacos are what stand out. This is a quick and easy food truck option for lunchtime.
