If you sit behind a desk all day and need motivation to get out in the Birmingham sunshine more often, we found a special event to help you kickstart this healthy habit.
On April 23, we’re celebrating National Walk@Lunch Day to get away from our screens for a little bit. Join us!
Get out in Birmingham + walk to lunch

For adults, getting at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day is recommended. Regular, consistent exercise is one of the best ways to improve your mood and overall physical health.
We know it’s hard to get this exercise in while working at a desk. Which is why it’s so fun to walk on your lunch break!
My coworkers and I are always rounding up the office for a quick walk to Trattoria ZaZa or AHKI’s in downtown Birmingham. It’s incredible how much a 20-minute walk can change our moods and energize us for afternoon meetings.
Walk@Lunch Day is April 23

I’ll see you at Linn Park on Walk@Lunch Day. (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama)
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama (BCBSAL) created Walk@Lunch Day to help you get out and about in Birminghamβand it’s coming up on April 23.
The goal? For people (who typically work in an office) to get up, take 15-30 minutes and get moving during the work day.
To help you do this, BCBSAL is hosting a free event at Linn Park for all of Greater Birmingham.
