The Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) is stepping up during National STI Awareness Week to provide free testing and help raise awareness about sexual health in our community.

Whether you’re looking to get tested, learn more about prevention or just want to take charge of your health, this is a great opportunity to do so—no judgment, just care.

Get tested at these local events

JCDH is hosting three free sexual health testing events across the Birmingham area. No appointment is needed—just show up!

What you’ll be tested for

These free and confidential testing events screen for common STIs including:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • HIV
  • Syphilis
  • Trichomoniasis

Early detection is key to staying healthy, and many STIs can be treated easily if caught early.

Don’t be shy! Take charge of your health

STIs can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or orientation. The more we talk about sexual health openly, the more we can break down stigma and create a healthier community for everyone in Birmingham.
