ShinDigital will be an afterparty music festival that concludes Sloss Tech on Friday, June 27. According to ShinDigital’s co-founder, Chase Morrow, it’s the beginning of an attempt to bring the spirit of festivals like SXSW to Birmingham and its thriving tech scene.

“I’ve always felt like music and tech go together hand in hand, and I would love to see us move forward into a sort of SXSW vibe here in Birmingham, Alabama. We’ve got all the ingredients, we just need to pull them together. This festival is the first of its kind here in town, we’ll have great music and lots of fun. It’s a great chance to put Birmingham back on the map in the tech and music world.”

In the future, he says, the festival would expand over a week full of events and performances.

What to expect

Sloss Tech will take place at the Alabama Theatre from June 25-27, concluding with ShinDigital at Workplay on June 27.

“We’re always looking for ways to expand access and elevate the experience for our attendees. Partnering with Techs and the City to introduce ShinDigital is a true win-win—and the perfect way to close out another unforgettable Sloss Tech.”
