What’s allowed + prohibited inside the BJCC—know before you go

We’ve made it to the final game of the NCAA® Women’s Basketball Elite 8 today, Monday, 31 with the University of Texas and Texas Christian University hitting the court at 6PM at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
For those visiting from out-of-town—and locals who need a reminder for today’s and future events—here’s the list of items allowed and prohibited inside the BJCC venues.
The BJCC’s bag policy
- The only NON-CLEAR bags that will be permitted at entry are bags smaller than 5″x7″.
- Any type of non-clear bag exceeding 5″x7″ in size will not be permitted.
- OTHERWISE, bags must be CLEAR plastic, vinyl or PVC + not exceed 12″x6″x12″.
- Bags cannot be tinted with color or include oversize content that prevents visibility into the clear bag.
- Diaper bags must be clear + meet bag policy specifications.
- Baby + infant care items (bottled formula, small snacks) are allowed in a clear diaper bag, but must have a child accompanied.
- Exceptions to the Bag Policy may be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection by security personnel.
- Medical bags or special medical equipment can be screened at any venue entry points.
- Guests that have these items should alert security to check their bags + tag as a medical-approved bag.

Prohibited items at the BJCC in Birmingham

Wondering if you can bring along items like selfie sticks, water or noisemakers? The answer is no. All are prohibited inside the BJCC, plus what’s on the list below:
- Aerosol cans
- Balloons
- Bullhorns/noisemakers
- Coolers, ice chests, or thermos containers
- Items too large to fit under a seat
- Laser pointers
- Outside food + beverage
- Professional recording devices for photography, video or audio
- Selfie sticks
- Stools or folding chairs
- Strollers
- Tripods / Monopods
- Weapons (weapons lockers are not provided)

What if you arrive at the BJCC unprepared?
Paid lockers are currently available on-site to store items not allowed into the BJCC, minus weapons.
COMING SOON: To better accommodate guests, the BJCC will soon be offering complimentary lockers on-site. Be on the lookout for when this new option becomes available.
