The Winn-Dixie in Cahaba Heights is slated to close.

In a statement given to Bham Now from Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Winn-Dixie, the Vestavia Hills store located at 3925 Crosshaven, was listed as one of the four locations statewide that will be shuttered between late April and mid-May.

Not part of Winn Dixie-ALDI conversion – what’s next?

The four stores are not part of the Winn-Dixie-ALDI conversion plans.

The other three locations are in Mobile and Phenix City.

“…These closures are anticipated between late April and mid-May. While this is not a part of ALDI’s conversion plans or the beginning of a larger trend of store closures, the decision aligns with our ongoing efforts to ensure the long-term health and sustainability of our business.

We recognize the impact this decision has on our associates, and we are fully committed to supporting them through this transition. All affected associates who are eligible and wish to continue their careers with us will be given the opportunity to apply to transfer to open positions at neighboring stores. Those who do not elect to transfer to another Winn-Dixie location will receive severance as they transition from the company.

Our focus remains on ensuring the long-term success of our business and continuing to provide the high level of quality and service our customers expect and deserve. We will work through this process with care, and we are grateful for the support and understanding of our valued associates, customers and communities.”
