WE Inc. allows people with barriers to employment to reach their full potential

“Disability rights are human rights.” (L: Bham Now, R: WE Inc.)
Workshops Empowered Incorporated (WE Inc.) is a Birmingham-based nonprofit that focuses on helping people with disabilities and other barriers to employment reach their full vocational potential.
They do this through initiatives and programs like WE Made, which provides job training in the food service and retail industries.
With their own line of baking mixes, WE Made participants get hands-on work experience, a steady income, job readiness training and graduate with connections to employers around the Greater Birmingham Area.
Fun fact: All goodies in the Great Birmingham Bake Off start with WE Made’s Southern Staples mixes.
WE Inc.’s newest endeavor in furthering their mission is the Empower Café—a dining experience for you, and a space where people with barriers to employment gain real-world skills through hands-on work in food service.
Visit Empower Café and directly support this local cause:
- Location: 4244 3rd Avenue South Birmingham, AL 35222
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 7AM-2PM
