Cheapism, a community-oriented and resourceful online blog, released “Best Places for Soup in Every State,” and Birmingham’s Chez Lulu came out on top for Alabama.

“Chez Lulu, with its fresh soups and European tarts, is a Birmingham favorite. Reviewers love its ‘creative, fresh and enticing menu options’ and Parisian bistro feel.”

Specializing in tartes, soups and sandwiches (on homemade breads from Continental Bakery), Chez Lulu brings a warm, comforting feeling to everyone who walks through the doors. It’s fitting that this Birmingham classic made the list of “best places for soup.”
