Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, there are going to be plenty of awesome new sports to get excited about. Basketball and Dance are making their debut, so get ready to see some seriously intense games.

Celebrating dads at Alabama State Games

The ASF Foundation’s Honoring Our Heroes program has a longstanding tradition of recognizing individuals within the community who take action and make a meaningful impact: first responders, educators, members of the military, nursing and law enforcement. On June 13, dads will be added to that list. 

As part of the 42nd Alabama State Games, athletes can nominate dads to receive the Honoring Our Heroes Medal during the opening ceremony.

More than medals—earn scholarships!

The Alabama State Games 2025 is ensuring athletes are recognized for more than just their athletic abilities. They are offering $42,000 in academic scholarships.

Here’s the breakdown:

• Twelve fortunate athletes will receive $1,000 scholarships at the State Farm Athlete Leadership Summit on Friday, June 13. This event focuses on developing leadership skills, and the scholarships reward hard work both on and off the field.
• Then, during the Opening Ceremony, they will be awarding ten additional $1,000 scholarships, along with 2 grand prizes of $5,000 each. These scholarships are available to all registered athletes attending the ceremony.

That’s a total of 32 scholarships, with $42,000 in prizes up for grabs.
