Located in Edgewood off Oxmoor Road, Han’ei Kaya Sushi Grill is a new venture between Ketut Sukra, Kadek Sudarsana and Ketut Sutama—three cousins from Indonesia. Boasting more than 40 years of combined restaurant experience, the owners have worked at and founded several of Birmingham’s beloved sushi restaurants, including Nori Thai and Sushi and Shiki Birmingham.

Now, they’re bringing something new to the charming Homewood neighborhood of Edgewood.

“We were looking for a promising location when we found this spot in Edgewood. We’ve loved it here; everyone is so welcoming and eager to try different kinds of cuisine.”

  • Cherry Blossom Roll: Salmon and avocado on the inside, tuna and massago with unagi sauce on the outside.
  • Spicy Crawfish Roll: Crawfish and cucumber on the inside, crunch with spicy mayo and unagi sauce on the outside.
  • Philadelphia Roll: Crab, smoked salmon, cream cheese and avocado.

If you’re feeling adventurous, Han’ei Kaya Sushi Grill can also create custom sushi rolls for each guest.

“Our chef can build any sushi roll you’d like. Just tell us what kind of fish you’d like, and we’ll bring complementary flavors together and build out the perfect sushi roll for you.”
