If you’ve recently driven along Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd S. near the entrance to Vulcan Park & Museum, you may have noticed an empty lot across the street. Formerly home to a McDonald’s and a Vulcan Mini Mart, the lot was recently owned by Vulcan Storage, LLC.

According to a press release from Harbert Retail—which represented the seller—the lot at 2001-2017 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd South has been sold to Tidal Wave Auto Spa (TWAS Properties, LLC) in a $2.1M transaction.

Tidal Wave Auto Spa was founded in 1999 and is one of the top four conveyor car washes in the country, with more than 275 locations in 30 states.

The area near Vulcan Park & Museum has seen several new developments in recent years, including Morningstar Storage’s Five Points South Storage at 1905 Richard Arrington Blvd S in Birmingham and the 18th Street Townhomes alongside 18th Street South in Homewood.
