What is Momentum’s Impact Day?
Momentum was founded in 2002 to elevate the professional potential of women in the state of Alabama.
The organization provides world-class programs, resources, and a network for Birmingham’s high-level leaders to achieve their goals.
Impact Day is one of Momentum’s most meaningful events, growing to host 800-1,000 guests this year.
This flagship event is designed to equip, educate, and inspire women across all stages of their leadership journey, whether you’re a seasoned executive, a mid-level professional, or are just starting out.
During the event, you’ll have a chance to network with local professionals, hear from Keynote Speaker Alyson Van Hooser, take part in a leadership workshop from Tonya Hill Mitchell, and welcome Momentum 2025 Woman of Impact Honorees.

So, what do Momentum’s remarkable women leaders have to say about Impact Day and what makes it so special?
Here’s what they told us:
Alyson Van Hooser, Impact Day 2025 Keynote Speaker
“What excites me most about sharing my message of Creating Infinite Impact with this audience is the kind of ripple effect that starts here. The people that will be in the room aren’t just here to grow themselves—they’re here to lift up their teams, their families, and their communities.
I’m going to show them a strategy that will help them take their results to a whole other level! I’m honored to be part of this moment with them.”
Alyson Van Hooser, President & CEO, Van Hooser Leadership
Connie Hill, 2025 Momentum Woman of Impact
“Momentum focuses on helping women develop their leadership skills and what we do here at Girls, Inc. is teaching young women how to be leaders. Momentum’s executive class was an excellent program for me to go through at a time when I was leading an organization that was teaching young people how to be leaders.
I hope people come away from Momentum’s Impact Day with a recommitment to whatever issue or community they are called to work in.”
Connie Hill, CEO, Girls Inc. of Central AL
Tonya Hill Mitchell, 2025 Impact Day Workshop Facilitator
“I want attendees to leave with a renewed sense of purpose, equipped with practical strategies to lead with clarity, confidence, and courage.
This workshop isn’t just about professional success, it’s about aligning our values with our actions to create lasting, positive change—starting exactly where we are and expanding outward. Together, we’ll elevate our impact to not just lead, but to uplift.”
Tonya Hill, Owner, Inspired Action Coaching + Consulting
Ruqayyah Abdullah, 2024 Momentum Executive Class Graduate + Conference Attendee
“What truly set the Momentum Conference apart from other events was the profound sense of belonging and intentionality that permeated every aspect of the conference. From the moment I arrived, it felt as though the entire experience had been crafted specifically for me—designed to meet me where I was while also challenging me to grow.”
Ruqayyah Abdullah, COO, Trillion Communications
