The Whitby’s beauty drew them in, but the community made them stay
When I asked what originally brought the team to The Whitby, everyone’s answer centered around the same thing: a one-of-a-kind community that felt like home.
“After traveling the country with my wife Kaliah, we decided to move back home to Alabama. What drew me in [to The Whitby] was initially the property itself, elegant but cozy cottage-like.
After meeting the team, I knew The Whitby was where I belonged!”

The small but mighty team came from different parts of the country, but circumstances brought them all to this local apartment community at the same time.
“After four years of working at new construction communities in Huntsville, my sister told me she was expecting a baby! I knew I had to move back to Birmingham to be closer to her, so I looked for a new community. Lo and behold—I saw The Whitby and knew it was where I had to be.”

A great place to build connections
Whether it’s saying “Hi” to a resident in passing or chatting with them for hours at an event, The Whitby team is eager to meet new faces and welcomes future neighbors.
The community has been busy with residential activities like Bingo night, a recipe swap and cocktail nights—all of which allow neighbors to spend some quality time with each other, which is what community is all about!
“I love board game nights. It makes for the best icebreaker for new residents to feel welcome in the community.”

Cynt is known as the “Castle Keeper” within the realms of The Whitby, and she loves talking to residents about it.
“My favorite thing to do with the residents is to discuss cleaning! I get really tickled when they ask how they should clean something or what product they should use.”
