8 Chanukah celebrations and Menorah lightings around Birmingham

Happy Chanukah Birmingham! Chanukah is December 25 through January 2, and if you’re celebrating in Birmingham, Chaba of Alabama is hosting several events with Menorah lightings all around town, so read on to see where you can join in on the festivities this season.

1. Mountain Brook Pre Chanukah Party

Mountain Brook will be having its annual celebration of Chanukah, inviting the public to enjoy music, dancing, family-friendly activities, a Menorah lighting and more.

2. Kosher Chinese Dinner

Chabad of Alabama will be hosting the “Great Wall of Chinakah” featuring a Kosher Chinese dinner and a Menorah lighting.

3. Hoover Chanukah Family Fair

Bring your friends and family to the Hoover Library for kid’s crafts, Chanukah crafts, a movie and more.

4. Homewood Menorah Lighting

Visit downtown Homewood for their Chanukah celebration featuring latkes, donuts, fun for the kids and music.

5. UAB Menorah Lighting Ceremony

Join UAB’s Jewish Medical Student Association for their annual 9-foot menorah lighting. It’s definitely a sight you won’t want to miss.

6. Grand Menorah Lighting at the Summit

This event has something for everyone. You can expect music, traditional treats, glitter tattoos, a silent disco, a photo booth and more!

7. Car Menorah Parade

You won’t want to miss out on this amazing parade. The special event will light up the streets of Birmingham, leaving from Chabad of Alabama and ending at Vestavia Hills City Hall.

8. Vestavia Menorah Lighting

Following the end of the Menorah parade, the City of Vestavia Hills is having its celebration featuring festive activities and treats, music, a Gelt drop and more.
