Welcome to another week, Birmingham!

From a new soap shop in Hoover to a complete rundown of what’s going on at The Summit, read on for everything you need to know about what’s new, coming soon and closed in Birmingham.

Now Open

1. Buff City Soap | Hoover

Buff City Soap has opened a new location at the Riverchase Promenade in Hoover.

The plant-based soap brand offers hand soap, laundry detergent, body lotions and more. Plus, you can even create your own scent at the soap makery.

2. American Eagle Outfitters | The Summit

Just in time for some last-minute holiday shopping. American Eagle has opened at the Summit.

The store is located next to the brand’s sister store Aerie.

3. Onelife Fitness

Virginia-based Onelife Fitness is expanding its gyms across the country, including a new location coming soon to Birmingham. 

According to the Birmingham Business Journal, the fitness center will be replacing a Birmingham-area JC Penney, however the company has not disclosed the exact location.

Currently, there are only nine remaining JCPenney stores in Alabama withΒ only four located in the Greater Birmingham Areaβ€”Hoover, Alabaster, Trussville and Fultondale.

4. White House Black Market | The Summit

According to a note left on the door, White House Black Market’s Summit location has closed permanently.

The popular women’s clothing retailer still has locations open in Tuscaloosa and Huntsville.

5. Talbot’s | The Summit

In October, we announced that Talbots at The Summit had plans to closeβ€”now, the store has officially shut its doors.

Located in a prime location at the center of the shopping center, the women’s clothing store was a popular shopping destination for several years.

6. The Pink Tulip | The Summit

Pink Tulip, a local boutique known for its trendy womenswear and stylish accessories, has officially closed at The Summit.

The boutique has now moved to a new storefront in Hoover, located at The Grove.
