Regions Center Christmas display in downtown Birmingham (Regions Bank)

You’re invited to join in the first-ever public celebration of one of Birmingham’s most recognizable holiday traditions, the Regions Center Building’s holiday light display.

The downtown tower will switch on its holiday lighting package, which displays giant images such as trees and wreaths on all four sides of the 390-foot building, on Friday, November 29th at a special lighting ceremony in Regions Plaza that is open to the public and free to attend.

What to expect

Here’s what you can expect from the inaugural Regions Building Lighting Ceremony:

The Regions Center holiday lighting is the culmination of months of work each year and provides an iconic reminder of the holidays to anyone with a view of Birmingham’s skyline.

“Each year, teams within the building begin work months in advance to prepare the Regions Center for the iconic lighting. Each window, each part of the display, is hand replaced each season with the appropriate colored gel sleeve.

On a few mornings or evenings before Thanksgiving, you might even notice that we test the building to make sure the lights and display are just right.

Because it’s about more than images of trees, a wreath and a stocking. It’s a reminder – for all to see — about the importance of this great community we call home and the season we celebrate.”

Mel Campbell, Regions spokesperson
