Miles College bid for Birmingham-Southern campus has expired

The agreement for Miles College to buy Birmingham-Southern College expired at 3PM today, November 25, according to a recent press release.

Miles’ request to extend the deadline until December 24 has been denied by BSC owners.

“The BSC community has great respect for Miles College, its students, faculty, staff and alumni, and appreciates both the shared roots and the alignment of missions.

But to meet its commitments to lenders and other creditors, the BSC Board of Trustees is obligated to sell the 192-acre campus property as quickly as possible.”

Birmingham Southern-College is still seeking buyers for its campus, which began negotiations in September of this year.
