Two of the biggest names in the Birmingham brewing industry are soon to be under the same roof as the owners of TrimTab Brewing have decided to sell their operation and are in talks with Cahaba Brewing Company as the prospective buyer.

Founded in 2013, TrimTab has won awards for its creative and experimental brews and has become a staple on store shelves throughout Alabama. The company made an announcement about its future on its social media channels on Thursday:

“We’ve got some exciting changes on the horizon and wanted to keep you in the loop. We’re in talks with a local brewery that shares our love for quality craft beer and community.”

Sources confirmed to Bham Now that Cahaba Brewing Company is the local brewery in talks to acquire TrimTab and will continue to produce and distribute its core products. TrimTab’s tasting gallery, located at 2721 5th Ave South, will close at the end of the year.

Cahaba Brewing Company has continued to expand its operations since launching in 2016, and is now producing at least 20 different canned varieties available in stores as well as a line of craft spirits.
