Spirit Airlines launches first Alabama flights, nonstop BHM to FLL

Today, Spirit Airlines is celebrating the Oct. 10 launch of its daily, nonstop service from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). 

BONUS: Spirit Airlines is offering limited-time fares starting as low as $49 one-way to and from BHM. Book by October 20.

Back in June, Bham Now reported that Spirit Airlines—an ultra-low-cost airline headquartered in Dania Beach, Florida—would soon introduce an affordable option for travelers looking to explore the Sunshine State.

The first flights out of BHM began on Thursday, October 10.

Spirit Airlines is commemorating the launch of its Birmingham service with limited-time fares starting as low as $49.

To qualify, travel must be booked by Oct. 20, 2024 and flow by Nov. 30, 2024.

In addition, if you are a member of the Free Spirit® loyalty program, you can earn 1,500 bonus points on round trip flights and 750 bonus points on one-way flights to and from Birmingham (BHM).
