Prostate cancer may not be something that crosses your mind often. But it affects countless men worldwide, and their families.

According to the Mike Slive Foundation, one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Just look around your office or at the next local event you attend. It makes this stat truly powerful, doesn’t it?

Here are a few more stats to know from the Mike Slive Foundation:

  • This year alone, 268,000+ men will develop prostate cancer, and the disease will claim 34,500+ lives.
  • Right now, there are nearly 3.1 million men in America living with prostate cancer.
  • Black men are nearly 80% more likely to develop prostate cancer than white men. They are more than twice as likely to die from the disease.

The Mike Slive Foundation was founded in 2017 by Ed Meyerson and former Southeastern (SEC) Commissioner Mike Slive.

Its mission? To provide life-changing prostate cancer research and help those affected by the disease.

Since then, it’s raised over $4 million and funded 33 research grants.
