Former Birmingham Stallions kicker Brandon Aubrey broke another NFL record

During Sunday’s preseason game between Aubrey’s Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders, the all-pro kicker tied the NFL record for the longest field goal in league history at 66 yards.

NFL pre-season doesn’t count

It is pre-season, so Aubrey’s name will not be etched into the record book, but he served notice to the entire league that he is capable of breaking the record held by Baltimore Ravens Justin Tucker.

How far did Aubrey’s kick go?

According to the NFL’s Next Gen Stats the field goal would have gone 72 yards.

Last season, Aubrey set the NFL record for most consecutive field goals made to start a career at 35. He also set an NFL record making a 59 and 60-yard field goal in one game.

Aubrey was a stalwart with the USFL’s Stallions during his two-year stint with the Stallions, making 37 of his 44 regular and postseason field goal attempts.
