The City of Jasper’s goal to reinvent community is now coming to fruition with the opening of Walker County Centennial Park.

The long-term objective is to continue fostering recreational harmony while adding fun amenities. Kids, for example, will have an opportunity to come together while learning in the pavilion, which will also function as an outdoor classroom.

Here are some more of the park’s features:

  • BBQ grills
  • Gardens
  • Pickleball courts
  • Swings
  • Walking track

The groundbreaking of this new park is just one of many projects centered on revitalizing the community. The city is focused on preserving fields and public spaces where families have created everlasting memories.

Now, United Way is also helping to grow and reshape land that will create more space for families to thrive.

“I just can’t thank United Way enough for making this possible. I think it’ll be a beautification and an enhancement for the community. I’m definitely glad and proud someone has shown interest in the District 5 area to make this possible.”

Willie Moore, Jasper City County Councilor
