Two high-performance luxury auto dealerships, Alfa Romeo of Birmingham and Maserati of Birmingham have shuttered their storefronts in Irondale.

But as the old saying goes when one door closes another one opens.

According to Irondale Mayor James Stewart, Subaru, the popular outdoorsy Japanese automaker is replacing the two Italian-made brands at the Irondale Auto Mall off I-459.

Subaru is a perfect fit for Irondale

“We are sorry to see the Maserati and Alfa Romeo brands leaving our Irondale Auto Mall, but we are excited about the addition of the Hallmark Group and Subaru. With our natural assets in the Cahaba River and Ruffner Mountain, Irondale is a perfect fit for marketing Subaru’s brand to their target audience of outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, bikers, and families.”

Bham Now was unable to reach the Hallmark Automotive Group for a comment. The dealership in downtown Birmingham sells, several makes including, Subaru, Jeep, Dodge Ram, and Nissan.

This story is developing.
