Urban Hai, an Atlanta-based authentic Chinese restaurant, is opening in the Denham Building in Parkside later this year. Read on to learn more about Urban Hai and when you can visit.

Authentic Chinese coming soon to Parkside

Founded in 2022 by restaurateur Gary Lin and Chef Hai Wang, Urban Hai is an authentic Chinese restaurant specializing in traditional dishes and Szechuan-style cuisine, such as:

  • Peking Roast Duck
  • Crispy Pork Belly
  • Home Style Bok Choy
  • Szechuan Kung Pao Chicken
  • Mapo Tofu

Hailing from northern China, Chef Wang began his culinary journey at the age of 15 and learned many types of Chinese regional cuisine. Over his 25-year career, Chef Wang traveled to Europe and Russia before bringing his skills to America.

“While our Atlanta restaurant is more modern, we plan to lean into the original textures and existing features of The Denham Building to create an industrial but polished concep.

There’s nothing like Urban Hai existing in Parkside District, and we look forward to introducing our authentic Chinese dishes to the community soon.”

Gary Lin and Chef Wang plan to open Urban Hai at the Denham Building by the end of the year.

According to a press release, Urban Hai will take the last remaining retail space at the Denham Building. Created by Atlanta-based Third & Urban, the Denham Building is a historic redevelopment of a 1927 warehouse.

In addition to Urban Hai, the Denham Building is home to:

“We have curated a diverse mix of retail tenants at Denham, and Urban Hai will be a strong addition to the project.

We are excited about the critical mass of retail, restaurants, and entertainment that’s building on the western side of Parkside District between Denham, our neighbors at Urban Supply, and other existing amenities in the neighborhood.”
