Cirque du Soleil is bringing a one-of-a-kind production to Birmingham
Not familiar with Cirque du Soleil? Founded in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is a one-of-a-kind theatrical production famous for its spectacular performances filled with music and acrobatics, such as Michael Jackson ONE and The Beatles LOVE.
Combining eye-catching stunts and breathtaking acrobatics with the soul-stirring melodies of beloved country music hits, Songblazers is Cirque du Soleil’s newest production and its first centered around country music.
Written and directed by the talented Amy Tinkham, Songblazers pays homage to both the modern and legendary voices of country music.
“To be asked to make a show about country music is a very daunting task because it’s giant.
So, the approach that I took was to go deeply into the history and crafting of a song, which is really key to country music.
Telling the truth and telling the story is the beautiful part of country music so that’s what Songblazers is about.”
Amy Tinkham, Director & Writer, Songblazers
Songblazers takes audiences on a journey through the history of country music, from its origins in the 1800s to the present day.
The curated catalog of 35 songs from 1867-2024 features well-known hits like “Friends In Low Places” and “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
