UAB needs your vote to win the national Most Beautiful Hospital contest

Last week, UAB Medicine was named by U.S. News and World Report as the best hospital in Alabama. With a little help from YOU, it can also be named one of the Most Beautiful Hospitals in the nation. Vote for UAB TODAY!

How to vote — deadline July 25

UAB is among 81 hospitals from across the country that have made it to the voting stage of Soliant Health’s Most Beautiful Hospital online contest.

The public can vote on nominees they deem the most beautiful up until Thursday, July 25th.

You can vote multiple times for UAB (VOTE TODAY HERE). The winner of this year’s contest, along with the top 20 hospitals, will be announced on July 31.

Another cool part of the contest — you can see where UAB stands in the vote count in real-time.  As of July 20th, UAB was just outside the top 20 in 23rd place.

So what makes UAB’s hospital campus and system beautiful? There are several notable buildings known for their architecture and beauty. For example::

  • Kirklin Clinic — Designed by I.M. Pei, one of the most famous architects in the past 50 years
  • Jefferson/Hillman Hospital — The original hospital, before it became a medical school
  • UAB Highlands — The beautiful hospital south of the campus in the heart of Southside
  • Callahan Eye Foundation

If you count UAB hospitals outside of Birmingham, the beautiful $400 million UAB Medical West hospital, which opens in August, adds to UAB’s vast portfolio of beautiful buildings and campuses.
