If you’ve ever driven past Rib-It-Up at 830 1st Avenue North in Birmingham, you probably remember the mouthwatering smells emanating from the one-story barbeque joint. Sadly, according to a recent post on its Facebook page, the popular restaurant has permanently closed its doors:

“Dear Valued Customers,

After 32 incredible years of serving our cherished community, Rib-It-Up is closing its doors. This decision comes as a result of the evolving economic landscape and the challenges we have faced in hiring additional staff.
