For the third straight season, the Birmingham Stallions are the kings of spring football.

In front of a nationally televised audience on FOX, the Stallions shoutout the San Antonio Brahmas 25-0 in the inaugural UFL Championship game.

The title is the team’s 3rd straight spring football championship since professional spring football returned in 2022.

Led by head coach Skip Holtz, this year’s team finished the 2024 campaign with an 11-1. In three championship seasons, the Stallions have compiled a 32-4 record.

Bham Now attended a packed UFL Championship Watch Party at Back Forty Beer Company near Sloss Furnace.

Here were some of their takes from a couple of “super fans” on the big game and the Stallions’ amazing run.

“The biggest thing is seeing Coach Holtz do this basically with three different teams. And winning it all with two MVP quarterbacks. If you haven’t been to a game please come out to one in 2025!”

In the crowd, right up close to the Back Forty screen, was Birmingham Randall Woodfin’s mom, Cynthia Woodfin-Kellum.

Here is what she had to say about the championship and the watch party’s atmosphere.

“I knew we were going to win! Being here was like a family reunion, but it was a football reunion. And our dad was Coach Holtz. He brought us together… the whole family!

To be here all together with all these people and with everybody happy. It couldn’t get any better. It was like being at Protective Stadium!”

What’s next — a parade?

No word yet on a parade, but if there was ever a team that has earned one down the Birmingham Green it is the Stallions. They are the kings of spring football.

While we are at it, here is hoping the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame has got a spare trophy case for all of the Stallions’ hardware. They need a place — and by the way, let’s nominate Coach Holtz for the HOF.
