Last week, REV Birmingham announced that downtown’s Business Improvement District (BID) would be making massive changes to its expansion in Five Points South and the Switch district.

These new updates mean more opportunities for a better Birmingham.

Here’s everything we know.

A BID for Bham

Last year, Bham Now reported the expansion of BID to Five Points South and the Switch. If you didn’t know, BID is a collection of small projects that work to improve the city. Some services include security, graffiti removal, marketing programs and other projects.

REV Birmingham to host townhall this week

This week, REV Birmingham will host a series of town halls in Five Points and the Switch. These meetings will cover questions regarding the expansion and how it can benefit business owners.

“I believe that services provided by the BID– specially the introduction of CAP–will lead to lasting change in these districts, but for that to happen, our community needs to understand the role they play too. I hope to see many familiar and new faces next week!”

Rima Patel, co-owner of Birmingham Apothecary and new Downtown BID board member
