COMING SOON: MicroFlex Irondale announces groundbreaking of unique new project

Soon, a new real estate concept will come to life in Irondale.

MicroFlex has announced the groundbreaking of a new facility containing several small units that can be leased for personal and professional use, from storage units to small business operations hubs and much more.

Located on Crestwood Boulevard, the project is expected to be completed in Fall 2024.

Changes in work space culture

MicroFlex is the latest venture of Andy Sink and John Thomas, Birmingham real estate veterans and founders of OWN Alabama.

According to Sink, the needs of small businesses have changed drastically since COVID-19—many companies learned they really didn’t need as much space as they thought, and long term lease commitment caused issues.

“Many businesses don’t need the same type and size of space as they once did. There are very few options in the market and many businesses don’t have the time, budget or desire to renovate traditional available space or make long term lease commitments.

Business is so much more fluid than it used to be. We’re finding all types of businesses are looking for flexible arrangements and space they can affordably and quickly adapt to their individual needs.”

MicroFlex provides small business owners and entrepreneurs with a flexible space that can be tailored to their specific business and personal needs.

Customizable units + diverse possibilities

Though sizing ranges between 1,000-2,000 square-feet, all units contain:

• High ceilings
• Restrooms
• Grade level roll-up doors
• Ample parking space

Units can also be customized with amenities like full AC, small enclosed offices, mezzanine space and epoxy floors.

Beyond professional needs, MicroFlex units can be leased for a variety of uses:

• Creative studio
• Personal storage

• Showroom
