There has been some moving around of car dealerships this year, and if you’ve been keeping up, you know that Birmingham is now home to the largest Ford dealership in Alabama.

Now, Jim Burke Downtown Auto Mall just sold for a whopping $18 million. Here’s what we know.

Who bought Jim Burke Auto Mall?

All main lots of the Auto Mall—stretching across five blocks in downtown Birmingham—have sold to Tennesee-based firm Hallmark Auto Group.

According to the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ), James J. Burke Jr. sold 24 parcels of land to Hallmark ACQ LLC for $15 million in April, and Phoenix Building Company sold the remaining two parcels for $3.2 million last week, May 14.

The intentions Hallmark ACQ has with the former Jim Burke dealership are unclear—stay tuned to Bham Now for more updates.

There’s more happening in the Birmingham car dealership scene.

At the end of 2023, Stivers Ford completed its much-anticipated move from its home of 90+ years in downtown Birmingham to the Palisades Shopping Center.

Hallmark ACQ’s acquisition of Jim Burke will hopefully mean more business and jobs created in Birmingham and beyond.
