With this spring roller coaster weather with some freezing at night and heat spells during the day—Birmingham can’t make up its mind about the weather, which means I’m ready to go on a warm vacation.

Luckily, Mobile has plenty of exciting events and sights to see, which makes it the perfect vacay destination. Keep reading for all the reasons you need to visit Mobile this spring.

1. Bunnies & Baskets at OWA, March 23-30

The annual Bunnies & Baskets celebration is a full week of fun, and this year, it’s at OWA Parks and Resort in Foley.

If you haven’t heard of OWA, you will soon enough. Sitting on 520 acres, this area features amusement and water parks, plus dining, shopping and entertainment hot spots.

From movie night to live bunnies to a Golden Egg Hunt, Bunnies & Baskets 2024 is one you don’t want to miss. Check out the events schedule for everything you can expect to see this year.

2. Boat Show on the Bay, April 5-7

Mobile’s 4th Annual Boat Show on the Bay will have live performances, food, goodies from local vendors and boats galore.

This show is fun for all ages (even your furry friends) so bring the fam and take in the beautiful views of Mobile Bay.

3. Mobile Botanical Gardens’ Golden Anniversary, April 11

The Mobile Botanical Gardens is a classic must-see spot around the area and this year, it’s turning 50.

You can spend an evening surrounded by jazz, signature cocktails and 100+ acres of beauty at the Gardens’ 50th Birthday Celebration.

With your ticket, you get to indulge in a buffet with beer, wine and signature cocktail selections, as well as slice of birthday cake to sweeten the deal.

All proceeds of the event go toward enhancing the value of the Gardens and furthering its educational mission.

4. Family Fun Day at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf Coast, April 13

Dive into a day of amusement with free admission to the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf Coast—featuring 80 immersive exhibits like shipwrecks, Port of Mobile balconies and live footage of the Gulf of Mexico.

5. Kites Over Mobile, April 13-14

Soar to new heights this spring! Kites Over Mobile is happening at the historic USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.

For an entire weekend, you get to experience kite flying demonstrations, face painting and more family-friendly activities.
